Monday

september

september is always a busy, busy month.  school and activities start and we have to get back into a routine.  i struggled this year trying/wanting to get back to a routine. the kids and i really got into the habit of sleeping in this summer and it was amazing.  oh well, it feels good to be back on a schedule now that we are used to it again.
school started at the beginning of the month and we did a little back to school dinner the night before.  i really liked the idea of having a theme or a motto for the year.  rhett and i talked about lots of different ideas and goals that would be good for our family and finally decided on a simple but powerful word: KINDNESS! kindness really does matter.  if we all were just kind to one another every day, all the time life would be so much sweeter.  it's a goal the kids can work on and one that i can most defiantly work on!

i let the kids choose what we ate that night and they surprisingly chose spaghetti for their back to school dinner.

 riggs does the splits

i woke up early and made pink pancakes for the first day of school.

true model here. it was freezing!

 now back to posing..

bry and i made cookies for when tacey got home.

we call this boy 'the destroyer'
he has rightfully earned that name

the yummiest carrots from our sweetest neighbors.  the englesteads have us motivated to plant a garden next year.  we can't wait!

bry and i really didn't know what to do the first few days tacey was at school.  we were kind of bored!! we went on walks, ate lunch outside, and basically counted down the hours until tacey got home.

just a little ride from a cute girl..

 my kids favorite thing

i have the BEST husband in the world.  i truly do.  i wouldn't trade him for anything.  but for 6-8 months out of the year i don't hardly see the man.  most of the time i try and stay super busy so it's not too bad.  but other times i go a little insane and get really lonely for him.  that happened to me in september.  even though i was so busy with the kids i still ended up losing it and went a bit insane.  don't worry, i found a way to regroup and refocus.  i just needed a little project which ended up giving me a little 'me' time.  i found an amazing table for the best price on craigslist.  it was a steal.
this is the before.

 and the during.

brylee had her fist day of preschool a week later.

she was so excited about her first project from school.

and then the destroyer found it and ate it. lol.

sometimes toni's husband is gone too, so we do a pizza night(:

here is a before picture of the chairs.

and here it is finished! we have already had so many fun dinners and school projects.  it's a lot larger (plus it has two leaves)  and closer to the ground than our old one which is why i think it has been getting used so much more.  it was so worth all the work.

the girls first day of dance! they both have dance on thursday night.  it makes for a super crazy evening of running around. i wish riggins enjoyed watching his sisters dance more so i could just stay and watch. maybe in a few months.

he loves that dang cord. haha.

brylee likes to take riggs on some 4wheeler rides quite often. they boy love it.

the girls did a cheer camp this year.  it was seriously the cutest thing i've ever seen. i was so impressed with how well the girls remembered their routines.

rhett and i realized tacey's 'boyfriend' was sitting right behind us at the football game.  you should have seen that boys eyes light up when we told him tacey was about to come out and perform! once tacey was able to come sit with us those two just sat and chatted and giggled the rest of the game. it was so cute and so hilarious.
these two became 'friends' last year and still manage to find each other at recess everyday this year even though they aren't in the same class this year. when i heard tacey use the word 'boyfriend' i kind of panicked! but i have been able to be around these two while they play a few times and they are clearly more just like best friends. thankfully. i hope it stays that way.

my girls were so happy sailyr did the cheer camp too.  luckily sailyr and brylee were in the same group.

one weekend my father in law was in town so we all drove up to island park to check out all the hunting spots. too bad rhett hasn't had time to hunt.

 touching the water.

theses two. <3 p="">

i LOVE sunday morning snuggles with these 4.

 2 peas in a pod

as you can imagine it is all dolls, barbies, and glitter over here.  we have SLOWLY been buying little boy toys. riggs loves his truck.

 homecoming week: pj day

 homecoming week: roaring 20's day

one day i looked outside and saw brylee had put this board up on their playhouse and was just laying on it.  funny girl.

mini whit with mini taryn
i love it

we seriously have the cutest little hometown.
homecoming parade.
and lucky for us the rick's were in town! hurray!
we had the funnest evening with them.

cartwheels and tears

homemade pizza night is always a hit at this house. probably because the girls get to make it.

what is he going to do next year when she has school everyday?

this kid is always getting himself stuck in the stickiest situations.
